At the free Hasta Luego Monarchs event on the Pollinator Prairie in Olathe KS. We received more than 500 visitors and I educated the public on insects, pollinators and musuem collections.
As a field technician for Bridging the Gap in the Kansas City WildLands program, I led volunteer groups and student groups on remnant prairie walks to collect native plant seed for prairie restoration. It was super rewarding to bridge education to action in a field setting.
At the Get MO Wild Fall Festival I ran a table for KC WildLands and educated visitors on tallgrass prairie plants and pollinators. (Here, I also met my childhood hero, Smokey the Bear).Â
